SuperMassiveBlackHole Founding Director Barry W Hughes Is Available For Consultations On All Aspects Of Contemporary Photographic Practices For Exhibitions, Online Presence, Visiting Lectures And Portfolio Reviews.
Reasonable rates depending on locations and times can be tailored for prospective clients in the corporate, educational and gallery system. Hughes has reviewed portfolios and given talks for the likes of The Photographers’ Gallery, Belfast Exposed, Sirius Arts Centre, Format Photo Festival, PhotoIreland Festival, The Copper House Gallery, Manchester Photographic and PhotoBook London. He has lectured at University of Westminster, UK; Coventry School of Art and Design, Coventry University, UK; UCA Farnham, UK; Dun Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design & Technology, Ireland. He has also been a nominator for the British Journal of Photography‘s ‘Ones to Watch’ issues 2014, 2015. In addition, Hughes has been a regular contributor to HotShoe Magazine since 2012, authoring features, reviews and articles on today’s leading contemporary photographers.
Portfolio review consultations for individuals involve a detailed analysis of the client’s photographic output, including presentation, project development, written statements and available resources. These critical but informal sessions aim to help the client gain a greater perspective of their work and practice, with an emphasis on the client’s individual vision. Each one-on-one session in London lasts one hour and costs £60. Expenses will be additional for further afield.
